Clark Art Presents Concert By Pianist Gabriel Quenneville-Belair
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Saturday, Oct 29, at 2 pm, the Clark Art Institute presents a concert by Montreal-based pianist Gabriel Quenneville-Bélair.    The program includes nineteenth- and twentieth-century music selected from composers including Maurice Ravel, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Schubert, and Ludwig van Beethoven. Also premiering at this performance are three concert études composed by Williamstown resident Stephen Dankner.    The free performance is open to the public and takes place in the Clark's auditorium....
Normal Rockwell Museum Hosts Hilary Knight Exhibition
STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Norman Rockwell Museum (NRM) has announce their fall/winter exhibition, Eloise & More: The Life and Art of Hilary Knight, featuring iconic illustrations by 95-year-old artist Hilary Knight. Berkshire Libraries Fall Crawl
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — One dozen Berkshire county libraries are hosting The Berkshire Libraries Fall Crawl from October 17 to October 22, 2022.   All are welcome to explore the Berkshires by visiting public libraries across the county. Participants can pick up a passport at the first library they visit and then drive from library to library, collecting passport stamps and small prizes.   Participants are asked to take a photo of themselves at each library along the way and use the tag #BerkshireLibraryCrawl2022....
Clark to Host Lecture on Feminism, Black History
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Thursday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m., Tsedaye Makonnen, the Futures Fellow in the Clark Art Institute’s Research and Academic Program, joins Nikki A. Greene, associate professor of art at Wellesley College, in a conversation examining feminism and the transhistorical forced migration of Black communities across the globe. The conversation explores Makonnen’s studio, curatorial, and research-based practice, and how it threads together her identity as a daughter of Ethiopian immigrants, a Black American woman, a doula, and a mother....
North Adams Library Hosting Home Movie Showings
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The North Adams Public Library will host a Home Movie Day on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 7 to 10 p.m.   Home Movie Day is an annual celebration of the historical and cultural value of amateur film. Screenings are held in communities throughout the world, and residents are encouraged to bring their films to share.   Participants may show up at 7 p.m. with their films. Qualified volunteers will inspect for condition. Projection formats include 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm.   This is the fourth Home Movie Day event in North Adams and Williamstown....
Ventfort Hall Celebrating Halloween Oct. 28 to 31
LENOX, Mass. — Ventfort Hall will be decorated for Halloween weekend, Friday, Oct. 28 through Monday, Oct. 31, 2021. Talk on Frank Grant at the Williams Bookstore
A biography about Berkshire County's Frank Grant, a Black player voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006, will be the focus of a talk starting at 4:00 this Wednesday at the Williams Bookstore on 81 Spring Street. The new 270-page book is by a Minnesota author named Richard Bogovich.   This talk is his first about Grant's biography.   Also speaking at the bookstore will be Carolyn Foote-Minich, a descendant of Frank Grant's brother Clarence, and Kevin Larkin, a baseball historian and author who lives in Berkshire County....

Fall Foliage Children's Race Winners Announced

Winners of 2022 Fall Foliage Children's Parade
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Fall Foliage Children's Parade on Friday evening attracted 72 participants in individual, group and float categories.  The parade stepped off from Monument Square, accompanied by police and the Drury High marching band, and ended at City Hall for awards presented by longtime organizer Kathy Keeser, Mayor Jennifer Macksey and 2022 Grand Marshals Leon and MaryAnn King.  Pictures of the parade are available here and a livestream on Facebook here.  The winners were invited to march in Sunday's Fall Foliage Parade....
Berkshire Art Center Opens Second Location in Pittsfield

Central Berkshire Record Show Returns October 2

Purgatory Road Returns, Funds Bring Kevin Hines to Dalton
DALTON, Mass. — "Purgatory Road," a long-standing spooky event that raises money for suicide prevention, is back this year. Attendees will be taken through a "cursed haunted mansion" themed trail in the woods behind the Dalton CRA. The event will run on Oct. 14, 15, and 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. and all proceeds support the Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention. The fundraiser was started by Joann Farrell and Betsy Nichols 11 years ago and has raised about $200,000 since. It usually draws about 300 people per night. This year, the effort has brought a globally known activist to Dalton....
Hancock Shaker Village Announces Plans to Reimagine Visitor Center
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Hancock Shaker Village is embarking on a journey to reimagine its visitor center. New Executive Director and CEO Nathaniel Silver and his predecessor, Jennifer Trainer Thompson, announced Thursday that TSKP x IKD Architects — based in Boston and San Francisco — has been hired for the task.Silver said the firm will work with the museum on a master plan and make the center "transformative for the visitor experience.""It will allow us to give visitors the kind of introduction and backgrounds that they need and that they deserve," he explained....

Fall Foliage Leaf Hunt on for 2022
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The annual Fall Foliage Leaf hunt, a traditional and popular feature that kicks off Fall Foliage Festival Week, starts Saturday Sept. 24.   This year the committee has revealed that there will be 15 colorful leaves hidden in Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, North Adams and Williamstown.    When a leaf is found it should be brought to Pedrin's Dairy Bar during normal operating hours to claim a prize. Pittsfield Community Members Celebrate the Dog Park's Anniversary
PITTSFIELD, Mass — Dog enthusiasts, volunteers, and Parks and Recreation employees gathered at the Pittsfield Dog Park on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate it being open for one year.  Dogs play off leash in the gated area.   The dog park ensures dogs can exercise and socialize safely. The gated area has two sections: one side is for dogs that weigh less than 30 pounds and the other is for large dogs.   The fenced area for off-leash dogs features a grassy layout for pooches to roam, a walking path, benches, complimentary waste bags, and even a dog-sized water fountain....
